Luzzone dam - Revision of the climbing route
With its 160 meters of height, the Luzzone dam is famous in sport climbing for being the highest artificial wall in the world. It is equipped with more than 600 resin holds, divided into 5 pitches. starting with 5b and finishing the last 3 pitches with 6a+.
The climb is mainly suitable for expert climbers.
Climbing route on the Sambuco dam
Commissioned by the val lavizzara body in 2018, the GAT worked to install a second climbing wall along the Sanbuco dam. Inaugurated in 2020, today there are 5 single pitch routes and a long route up to the top of the dam.
The single pitch routes are based on G+S requirements and suitable for children. The most demanding long route is grade 4C with its 5 pitches
Technical review of the Ferrata del San Salvatore
Commissioned by the municipality of Lugano - Tourist board, between 2022 and 2023 the GAT is working to review and change the entire safety line along the via Ferrata del San Salvatore
Mountains as safe in summer as in winter
IL GAT is an active player within the cantonal working group for the Safe Mountains campaign, an awareness program of the Canton Ticino, with the aim of making the population aware of the dangers of mountains both in summer and in winter
